Recursor is a free plug-in for ArcGIS® that enables users to rapid fire load the following types of data: Shapefiles, Personal Geodatabase datasets, Coverages, DEMs, TINs, Raster Datasets and CAD Drawings. In addition, it will open .MXD project files.

Recursor will add data that has been checked in the data tree to the project Recursor was opened in. It utilizes the existing Catalog connections to display the dataset nodes in the data tree.

Recursor may be useful in the following scenarios:

1. The complexity of the directory structure makes it difficult to discern what you want to add, and you prefer to look up and down a fully opened Treeview/connection.
2. You have a large number of files to load, and you only want to click a couple of times. e.g. many rasters across many folders.
3. You want to load a bunch of new data across several folders, and somebody didn’t give you an .MXD with the dataset.

Known Issues:

• Alphabetical order of files and folders considers both the letter and the case. Therefore, you will find all the capital letters sorted first by type, then all the lower case. This should be fixed in the next update.
• SDE connections are not currently supported.
• Does not show new connections immediately, and requires a restart of Recursor.
